A motivation to all the women in technology out there.

I have been reading a blog on successful women in technology, who have chosen to defy all odds and venture into the tech field despite it being a male dominated field for a long period now. I have really been motivated by a quote ; ” It won’t be useful to learn a lot without sharing the knowledge with someone else”. So I felt challenged and chose to share this insights that I have just learnt.

I believe everyone has something to offer.

Excellence in whatever work you do should be your driving force.

Support others in achieving their dream.

Whatever is not worth sharing physically shouldn’t be posted online.

Don’t be too quick to focus on money, identify your passion first, earn experience from it and give it your best. Identify a mentor and associate with people who are better than you. Mentor-ship is key.

Respect different points of view, different ways of processing information and actively work to understand different points of view.

When you realize that you’re giving all your time,dedication and commitment and you are not reaching the positions that you would like to have, and you are like okay, no, no, no, this is not working. You can do it for sure. There is no limit.

Being a woman is not a handicap to achieve your goals, you can definitely do it.

Be bold in pursuit of your goals.

You have a lot of things to improve. I know I don’t know everything, but everyday I learn something and I love it. But then again, it won’t be useful to learn a lot without sharing that knowledge with someone else, so you should like to share knowledge.

As leaders, pay it forward and help others in their journey.

I think that women and companies can grow together if the number of talented people who actually become women’s mentors and role models increases.

I want to acknowledge every woman out there especially the women in the tech field who’ve braced themselves up to follow their passion and shine irregardless of their gender.

Woman, go go go! Continue rising, continue shining your light, continue making your star shine brighter than ever before, continue glowing, growing and above all continue investing in yourself. Someday you will look back and be happy of the woman you have become.

Shout out to Taita Taveta University (TTU) Tech Lady Club that has granted me the platform to exercise my leadership abilities, acquire new tech skills and also empower other women /ladies pursuing STEM(Science, Technology,Engineering,Mathematics) courses.

These tech communities provide a platform for you to grow and also share ideas with your fellows and eventually coming up with solutions that will bring change to the world at large.
